2 nights of big crowds and solid wrestling.

4/1/23
Los Angeles, CA
Commentary: Michael Cole, Corey Graves
Miz and Snoop are your hosts.
US Championship: (C) Austin Theory v John Cena
This wasn’t an all time classic or anything but it was an entertaining enough opener that the crowd was completely in to. I’ll take it. 1-1
Winner: Theory retains with A-Town Down in front of a bunch of Make-A-Wish kids.
Braun Strowman/Ricochet v The Viking Raiders v The Alpha Academy v The Street Profits
They definitely kept this thing moving. Another one that wasn’t an all timer but definitely a solid point and kept me entertained. Good enough. 2-2
Winners: The Profits get the win because people actually give a shit about them.
Seth Rollins v Logan Paul
Both guys had awesome entrances and then went out and had an awesome match. Seth rules as usual and to this point I haven’t seen one negative thing about a Jake Paul performance. Dynamite from bell to bell and an easy point. 3-3
Winner: Seth gets the dub following the stomp. This almost got an extra point for the attempted murder of a YouTube guy in a Prime costume.
Damage CNTRL v Trish Stratus/Lita/Becky Lynch
Another one that wasn’t what you would call a classic but was just entertaining enough to keep the crowd hyped. Trish hasn’t lost a step. Lita existed and everyone else did fine. Good enough. 4-4
Winners: Becky and company get the win after a Manhandle Slam on poor Bayley.
Rey Mysterio v Dominik Mysterio
Two AMAZING entrances followed by a pretty damn good little match. Dom is 1000 times better in this role than he was as Rey’s little buddy. Just a really well out together deal. Hopefully we get hair vs mask soon. 5-5
Winner: Rey after a frog splash and believing in the power of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Smackdown Women’s Championship: (C) Charlotte Flair v Rhea Ripley
Certifiable classic and definitely a match of the night on any other night than this one. Both athletes came out with a chip on their shoulders and an eye on stealing the show. They very nearly did. Charlotte is still great and Rhea is now MADE. Awesome. 6-6
Winner: Rhea after a middle rope Riptide.
Austin Theory talks shit about big match John.
The Miz and Snoop are back. This time Miz talks himself into a corner and a match with the returning…
Pat McAfee v The Miz
Nothing really to this other than to get Pay on the show. No point but I ain’t counting it against them either.
Winner: Pat kicked Miz’s head off.
Undisputed Tag Team Championship: (C) The Usos v Sami Zayn/Kevin Owens
One of my favorite matches in recent memory. Top both stuff from beginning to end and the right team won. I can not say enough good things about this entire deal. Match of the night on a show that was full of good stuff. Hell yeah. 7-7
Winners: After a lifetime of Uso dominance we have a new team at the top of the mountain.
Final Tally? 7-7. One of the greatest nights in WrestleMania history. Nothing terrible and two amazing classics anchoring it. Night two had a lot to live up to.

4/2/23
Los Angeles, CA
Commentary: Michael Cole, Corey Graves
Miz and Snoop have returned.
Omos (w/MVP) v Brock Lesnar
Way better than it had any right to be. Brock is just phenomenal in everything he tries athletically. Omos did just enough to carry his end of this deal as well. Not too shabby. 1-1
Winner: Brock wins via being a real life superhuman.
Raquel Rodriguez/Liv Morgan v Natalya /Shotzi v Chelsea Green/Sonya Deville v Ronda Rousey/Shayna Baszler
Man. I WANTED this to be good. I like several of the folks in this but, it wasn’t. The winners were gone through most of it and nothing stood out in any way as anything will resemble Mania worthy. Damn shame. 1-2
Winner: Team Ronda after who gives a shit?
Big Bob Lashley won the Dre. Oof. Missed opportunity not having him on the card.
Intercontinental Championship: (C)Gunther v Sheamus v Drew McIntyre
I can say without any hyperbole that this is one of the greatest matches in WrestleMania history. Just a hard hitting struggle from beginning to end and all three of these dudes deserve a raise and an award. 2-3
Winner: Gunther retains via fucking survival.
RAW Women’s Championship: (C) Bianca Belair v Asuka
They were in the terrible position of having to follow an all time great contest but after the first few minutes they got it together and put on an entertaining match in their own right. Probably not as good as the Women’s Championship match on Saturday but still a really solid and entertaining watch. 3-4
Winner: The champ retains following a KOD.
Miz and Snoop are back. This time SHANE MCMAHON returns from the dead to humiliate Miz.
Shane McMahon v The Miz
Nothing here. Shane gets hurt 5 seconds in. I ain’t counting this.
Winner: Snoop Dogg because who cares.
Hell in a Cell: Edge v Finn Balor
It took them a while to get going but once they did it was mostly pretty fun. The only negative is that it was a touch too long due to Finn’s head being busted open but that’s hardly their fault. Not an all time classic but definitely not a hard watch either. 4-5
Winner: Edge destroyed the Demon with a Conchairto.
Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: (C) Roman Reigns (w/Paul Heyman/Solo Sikoa) v Cody Rhodes
Taking away the ending for a second. This was a damn near flawless match and main event for any show. Even a WrestleMania. Everyone involved just killed it on every single level. From athleticism to story telling to facial expressions everything was directly on point. I just wish the way they ended it was not so disappointing. But still. 5-6
Winner: The Tribal Chief retains one more time after Solo interfered.
Final Tally? 5-6. Not QUITE as flawless as night one but I’ll be damned if this wasn’t an amazing show in its own right. I’d say that WrestleMania overall can not be considered anything but a rousing success all around.
