Welcome to the 35th edition of 5 Questions! Keep in mind, these were never intended to be super in depth, but they have always been informative and hopefully fun. It’s been cool getting to know a little bit about the minds of the good folks that put their bodies on the line to entertain us. Today’s guest is another up and coming young talent.

Adam (on the right) with Top Guys partner Kevin Giza.

My favorite part of doing these things is being able to talk to people that truly love the wrestling business. A lot of these guys like Adam are young, talented people that are on the cusp of being big stars. Adam is well on his way. He’s already a multiple time OVW Southern Tag team Champion (with Kevin as the Top Guys) and currently one half of the Paradigm Pro wrestling Tag team Champions. So the man knows success. He also just recently debuted for IWA Mid-South Wrestling so he’s hoping that success translates there as well. Let’s get ourselves introduced to Mr. Slade a bit before we start the questions. Adam?

“Its Your Babygirl’s Babygirl, one half of the Top Guys, Mr. Swole is the Goal, formally known as The American Warrior, known throughout the Kentuckiana Area as The Winter Swoldier and THE Top Guy and of course one of the Hoots, Adam Slade!”

Away we go people. 5 Questions with Adam Slade!

1: Who most influenced you to become a professional wrestler?

“Most Definitely Edge! I had started watching wrestling on the regular in April of 2004 (WrestleMania XX) as a 13year old boy and as many 13 year old do, I started to mature and begin seeing wrestling in a different light. I wasn’t cheering for the good guys as much as the villains were better characters. Enter Edge who stole at WrestleMania 21 and dethroned “Super Cena” after Elimination chamber. He continued to grow and adjust his character based on his feuds and had a hall of fame like career prior to his injury. He’s such an influence, that he is actually the inspiration for one half of my namesake for wrestling as I have taken his real life first name in Adam.”

2: What is your all time favorite match that you’ve been apart of?

“By far the tag match at Paradigm Pro Wrestling’s February Event “I Need Love” between myself and Kevin Giza vs. The Rejects (John Wayne Murdoch and Reed Bentley). Going into that match we were just another tag team on the roster but after that brutal hardcore match we received adulation from the fans that we hadn’t heard before. It was survival but Giza and I wanted to prove we could hang with the best and I believe we did that. I also took a Sabu style chair shot to the head and that is something I’ll never forget. Luckily, we got to have a rematch at the recent PPW show and picked up the tag belts. I’d love to do a rubber match somewhere down the line.”

3: If you could work for any promotion in wrestling history, what would it be?

“I think the obvious answer for most would be WWE, NJPW, ROH, but I honestly want to wrestle for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. Just the atmosphere in Reseda (Ideally, I’d wrestle during their time in history at that location) is something I’ve just really appreciated since I’ve started watching more independent wrestling. I think there is something special about that show and it is hard to capture that in just any venue, but I have it as personal goal of mine to wrestling for PWG at some point in my career.”

4: Is there a song that you LOVE that everyone else thinks is awful?

“Well Kevin Giza and the other Hoots (Logan James and Lukas Gibson) are all in agreement that I have “Old Man Ears.” Now not for nothing, I do tend to stick to my older music roots (70s and 80s Rock and Pop) that my father and brothers instilled in me. With that said, I always am down to get introduced to new music via my fellow wrestlers but I will always place a few Backstreet Boys or N*Sync songs during our drives because there is just nothing better than jamming to some boy bands on the highway.”

5: In your opinion who is the greatest Professional Wrestler of all time?

“Shawn Michaels. There are so many choices when it comes to this question, so I honestly have to stick to my gut, and in all honesty,  he is the type of wrestler to have match of the night almost every night and there is something special about that. He was able to overcome a career threatening injury and come back to pro wrestling in a new fashion and continue to be the Show Stealer! There may be several people who get heralded as the “Next Shawn Michaels” but there can only be one original.”

There we have it guys, another 5 Questions have come and gone.

Here comes my favorite part…

Remember the sole reason for these is to get some extra eyeballs on people, and let as many folks as we can know what these talented individuals are up to. That’s what this next section is all about! Time to plug some stuff!
